These Terms and Conditions apply to all tours and services provided by Local Legends. By making a booking with Local Legends, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined below.
1. Booking and Payment
Clients are encouraged to book tours directly through our website where available. Should online booking not be available, clients may contact us directly at:

Upon receipt of your booking request, Local Legends will provide confirmation of availability along with a quotation or invoice. A booking is only considered confirmed once payment has been received and a confirmation email has been issued.

Payment Requirements
​

Individuals and small groups (1–5 guests): Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Groups of 6 guests or more: A 60% deposit is required to secure the booking.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days prior to the tour date.
Local Legends reserves the right to cancel bookings where payment has not been received within the required time frame.
All quotations remain valid for 14 days unless otherwise specified.
2. Cancellation and Refund Policy
All reservations, amendments, and cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.
Cancellation fees apply as follows:

Individual Guests

Cancellation more than 72 hours prior – Full refund

Cancellation 48 hours prior – 10% cancellation fee

Cancellation 24 hours prior – 50% cancellation fee

Cancellation 12 hours or less prior – 100% cancellation fee

Groups of 2–5 Guests

Cancellation more than 90 days prior – 10% cancellation fee

Cancellation 60–30 days prior – 30% cancellation fee

Cancellation 30–14 days prior – 50% cancellation fee

Cancellation less than 14 days prior – 100% cancellation fee

Third-Party Activities
​
Certain activities arranged through external operators (such as paragliding, safaris, quad biking, boat trips, etc.) are subject to the cancellation policies of those individual providers, which may override the Local Legends cancellation policy.
3. Tour Modifications and Itinerary Changes
While every effort is made to operate tours as advertised, Local Legends reserves the right to modify itineraries due to circumstances beyond our control.

These may include but are not limited to:

Weather conditions

Road closures or traffic delays

Safety concerns
-
Venue availability
-
Natural disasters or unforeseen events

Where necessary, we will make reasonable efforts to substitute venues or experiences of equal quality and value.

No refunds will be issued where itinerary adjustments are required due to circumstances beyond our control.
4. Health, Safety and Travel Insurance
The safety of our guests is a priority. Local Legends works with reputable transport providers and ensures that:

All vehicles have passenger liability cover

Drivers hold valid Public Driving Permits

Vehicles are equipped with first aid kits
​
However, guests participate in tours at their own risk.
​
We strongly recommend that all clients obtain adequate travel and medical insurance, including coverage for:

Personal injury

Medical expenses
-
Loss or theft of personal belongings
-
Trip cancellations
-

Guests with medical conditions or mobility limitations are encouraged to inform Local Legends at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be considered.
5. Responsibility and Liability
Local Legends acts as a tour operator and booking agent for certain services provided by third parties, including but not limited to:

Wine estates
-
Restaurants
-
Activity operators
-
Transportation providers
​
While we carefully select our partners, Local Legends cannot be held responsible for:

Injury or illness
-
Loss or damage to personal property
-
Delays or cancellations caused by third-party providers

Participation in tours and activities is undertaken entirely at the guest’s own risk.
By booking with Local Legends, guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless Local Legends, its owners, guides, employees, and partners against any claims arising from participation in the tour.
6. Inclusions and Exclusions
Each tour offered by Local Legends may include different elements.
Depending on the tour, inclusions may consist of:

Wine tastings

Meals
-
Entrance fees
-
Guided experiences

Guests should refer to the specific tour description to confirm what is included.
Unless otherwise specified, the following are not included:

Personal purchases

Additional drinks or food

Gratuities

Travel insurance

Optional activities not listed in the itinerary
7. Dietary Restrictions and Special Requests
Guests with dietary requirements, allergies, or special requests should notify Local Legends at the time of booking.
While we will make every effort to accommodate such requests, this may depend on the policies and capabilities of the venues visited.
Local Legends cannot guarantee that all dietary needs will be met.
8. Age and Group Size
Children under the age of two are not permitted on tours.
Children aged three years or younger must travel in an appropriate car seat. Guests may bring their own car seat if required.

There is no strict minimum or maximum group size, however certain tours may have capacity limitations depending on transport or venue restrictions.
9. Behaviour and Conduct
Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards guides, drivers, fellow guests, and the venues visited during the tour.
Local Legends reserves the right to refuse service or remove guests from a tour if their behaviour:

Endangers the safety of others

Causes damage to property
-
Disrupts the tour experience

In such cases, no refund will be provided.
Guests may also be held liable for any damage caused to vehicles, venues, or equipment.
10. Alcohol Consumption
Many Local Legends tours involve wine tastings or alcohol consumption.
Guests are expected to drink responsibly. Local Legends reserves the right to limit alcohol consumption or refuse further service to guests who appear intoxicated.
Guests remain responsible for their own behaviour throughout the tour.
11. Photography and Media
Guests are welcome to take photographs and videos during the tour for personal use.
However, continuous recording of the tour using professional equipment (such as continuous GoPro or microphone recording) is not permitted without prior consent.
Local Legends may occasionally take photographs during tours for promotional purposes. In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we will request consent before using any identifiable images of guests.
For guests under the age of 18, consent must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
12. Late Arrivals and No-Shows
Guests who fail to arrive at the agreed meeting point at the scheduled time may be considered a no-show.
Local Legends cannot guarantee that the tour will be delayed for late arrivals.
No refunds will be issued in the case of late arrival or non-attendance.
13. Force Majeure
Local Legends shall not be held liable for failure or delay in fulfilling obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

Natural disasters

Severe weather
-
Government restrictions
-
Strikes or civil unrest
-
Road closures or transport disruptions

In such cases, Local Legends will attempt to reschedule the tour or provide suitable alternatives where possible.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes arising from services provided by Local Legends shall fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape, South Africa.
